At its peak, Teotihuacán was housing an estimated 150,000 inhabitants. Yet, its abrupt decline and eventual abandonment around the 7th or 8th century AD remain unexplained. Teotihuacan’s intricate murals and temples provide glimpses into its religious practices, which were central to its culture. Their exact nature is still the subject of ongoing research and debate. Beneath the pyramids and structures, a network of mysterious tunnels and chambers has been discovered. Many remain unexplored.
