This video is about evolution of articulate speech in hominids.
There is no archeological evidence to suggest when hominids first started to articulate speech.
In humans Broca’s area of the brain is responsible for speech generation. Based on hyoid bone, size of the tongue and of hypoglossal canal in fossils and the imprint of Broca’s area in skulls we can make scientific assumptions.
Tumai, Ardi and Orrorin
were probably communicating like chimpanzees.
Australopithecus Afarensis
(Lucy) was making sounds but not articulating speech to communicate.
Homo Habilis
has fossils showing small Broca’s area. Oldowan tools were created for right handed people which means he had brain lateralization, maybe his Broca’s area was helping him to generate vowels and consonants and maybe few simple words, he was clearly gesticulating.
Homo Erectus or Ergaster
(Turkana Boy) masterd fire and eating cooked food helped his brain to improve. His tongue, jaw and teeth improved and he was uttering a few words.
Homo Heidelbergensis
was clearly using words but his grammar was lacking.
Homo Neanderthalensis
had a descended hyoid bone like us, had larger brain than us, and he was having a proto-language. Therefore it is believed that the first language emerged around 60 k years ago.
In the Genesis in the Bible, the first language was Adamic language and first human who spoke was Eve while talking to the serpent.
