#Stonehenge the most impressive cromlech, which is a megalithic monument with stones in a circle. It is located in Wiltshire, on Salisbury Plains, England. This megalithic monument has blocks weighing from 25 to 50 tons. It is a mystery why and how this monument was built. Work started around 5400 years before and the final changes to construction were made about 1500 BC.
It was built in 4 stages and moved about 140 miles from its original site. It has 2 types of stones: Sarsens and blue stones (Dolorite). The blue stones were brought from Wales 140 miles away and Sarsens from Marborogh Downs (20 miles away).

revealed Stonehenge is a second hand monument, the original was build on Waun Mawn on Preslei Hills in Pembrokshire, Wales, 257 km away.
The cromlech in Waun Mawn
had 30-50 stones that were moved to Stonehenge, only 4 remaining there. It is a mystery how and why early humans transferred and arranged the stones. It was damaged by roman soldiers and during medieval times and World War I. Stones extend 2 m underground. Charles Darwin studied the stones and believed they were sinking due to earthworms.
