10.Burg Katz Castle
It was built in 1371 and it was bombarded in 1806 by Napoleon and rebuilt in 1896. It is private and not open for visitors .It is remarkable being located on the River Rhine next to the Lorelei rock.
9. Lichtenstein Castle
it is privately owned and its name means shinning stone. The initial castle was built around 110 .It was destroyed and rebuilt many times . The current building is from the 19th century. It was damaged during World War II.
8. Burg Eltz Castle
it is still owned by the Eltz Family who lived there for 33 generations. It was never been destroyed.

6.Heidelberg Castle
The earliest castle structure was built before 1214 .It was damaged by wars, fires, and lighting bolts. It is half ruin now but still amazing to visit.
5.Moritzburg Castle
it is a baroque castle close to Dresden built in 1542-1546. It was a hunting residence and has an impressive collection of red deer antlers.
4.Sigmaringen Castle
was the princely castle of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen family. A branch of this family became kings of Romania who built Peleș Castle.
The French Vichy Regime was moved from France into Schloss Sigmaringen durin World War II.
3.Schwerin Castle
The first castle was built in 973.It is located in Schwerin, capital of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern state . Major parts of the current castle were built in 1845-1857.
2.Hohenzollern Castle
is located atop of Mount Hohenzollern in the Swabian Jura of Baden Württemberg, Germany. It was first constructed in the 11th century. IT was completely destroyed in 1423 after a ten month siege. The current castle was built in 1846-1867.
1. Nueschwanstein Castle
was built in 1869 in honor of Richard Wagner by King Ludwig II of Bavaria. He was an eccentric who loved Richard Wagner and its construction was inspired by Tanhäuser and Lohengrin and its name is reference to Wagner’s character the Swan Night. After loosing his throne, the King Ludwig II spent his last days in his own fairy tale castle whish was not ended when he passed away.
