Asiya bint Muzahim Story about Exodus in Quran

One of the earliest, most fascinating, and controversial figures in the history of Islam is a woman who appears in just a handful of sentences in the Qur’an and has been shrouded in mystery for centuries.

Her name is Asiya bint Muzahim, and her fascinating story, as recorded by early Muslim scholars and historians, has largely been lost to history. Asiya, the wife of Pharaoh, is one of the most celebrated women in Islam. She accepted the message of Moses. Pharaoh’s wife Asiya believed in Moosa and she was cruelly killed. Pharaoh tried to turn her away from the faith, but Asiya refused to reject the God and the teaching of Moses.

On Pharaoh’s orders, she was tortured to death. She found and adopted Moses and convinced her husband not to kill him. She died while being tortured by her husband, who had discovered her monotheism and retaliated to her rebellion. We don’t know who she really was.

We still don’t know who she was

Some assume she was Nefertari, Ramses the second wife. We don’t know what happened to her mummy. The younger lady’s mummy was desecrated, maybe as a punishment, and could be her too. So

Pharaoh’s wife ‘Asiya Raliya Allahu anha’ believed in Moosa Alihisslam and she was cruelly killed. Pharaoh’s atrocities didn’t stop there. He tried to turn her away from the faith, but Asiya refused to reject the God and the teaching of Moses. On Pharaoh’s orders, she was tortured to death. The tradition holds that Asiya worshipped God in secret and prayed in disguise fearing her husband.

Aisya was humble

Asiya’s marriage to the Pharaoh was arranged. Unlike her husband, she was humble and accepted the faith that Moses and Aaron were preaching. Although she had exceeding wealth, she was not arrogant like the Pharaoh.

Asiya and her maids found a crate floating in the Nile River. Asiya ordered that the crate be drawn ashore. The maids thought there was a treasure inside, but instead found a baby boy, Moses, abandoned to God by his mother. Asiya instantly felt motherly love towards him. Later she told the Pharaoh about the baby and adopted him. The story has been described in the Quran.

Asiya offered Moses’s biological mother to live in their home as his wet nurse and paid her for her services, unaware of their relationship.

When she witnessed the death of a believing woman under her husband’s, the Pharaoh, torture, Asiya declared her faith before the Pharaoh. Then he tried to turn her away from the faith, but Asiya refused to reject the God and the teaching of Moses or Musa. On Pharaoh’s orders, she was tortured to death, left in the desert, her daughters and other wives saw her and mocked her.
