Ptahhotep, an ancient Egyptian vizier, wrote one of the oldest books, a book of maxims, around 2400 BCE. The maxims offer advice on how to live a successful and virtuous life, covering topics such as respect for authority, proper behavior, and the importance of education.
The oldest books are generally considered to be the Epic of Gilgamesh, a Sumerian epic poem that dates back to the 3rd millennium BCE, or Ptahhotep’s book consisting of ancient Egyptian wisdom, intended to guide individuals on how to live a virtuous and successful life.
