Why did Pharaohs from ancient Egypt families had events of inbreeding?
The Pharaoh Ahmose (1552-1527 BC) married his sister Nofretiri. Their parents were also brothers. Thutmose II (1494-1490 BC) had a harem, but his favorite wife was his stepsister Hatshepsut.
At Thutmoses death she took the throne for the heir who was her nephew. Amenophis III (1402-1364) was married to Teje. Because many were complaining Teje was not royal blood, Amenophis III married their own daughter Satamun. Ramses II had 80 sons and daughters. His favorite wife was Nofretiri and their daughter Bintanat became Ramses II wife.
Tutankhamun was the son of Akhenaten and his own sister and he at his turn married Ankhesenamun who was his half-sister too, and before that she was married to their father as well. Osiris and Isis were brother and sister according to the legend, and their brother Seth killed Osiris.
It is unknown why these Pharaohs did inbreed in their families, they probably tried to keep their bloodline pure and preserve the power in within their family. They seem to be acting like the Illuminati.
